Stroud Positive Living Group – February 2016

Next Event:

Monday 22nd February 2016
GUEST SPEAKER – Lucia Jayaseelan
TITLE – Art of Getting to Know (Help) Myself – Jin Shin Jyutsu

JIN SHIN JYUTSU is the Art of releasing tensions which are the causes for various symptoms in the body. Our bodies contain several energy pathways that feed life into all of our cells. When one or more of these paths become blocked, this damming effect may lead to discomfort or even pain. This blockage or stagnation will not only disrupt the local area but will continue and eventually disharmonize the complete path or paths of the energy flow.

Lucia

Lucia will show how, through Jin Shin Jyutsu, our awareness is awakened to the simple fact that we are endowed with the ability to harmonize and balance ourselves (in rhythm with the universe) physically, mentally and spiritually.

Jin Shin Jyutsu is an art as opposed to a technique because a technique is a mechanical application, whereas an art is a skillful creation. This beautiful, simple Art is our inheritance.

According to ancient written records, which remain in the Archives of the Imperial Palace in Japan, Jin Shin Jyutsu was widely known before the birth of Gautama (Buddha, India), before the birth of Moses (recorded in the Bible), and before the Kojiki (Record of Ancient Things – Japan, A.D. 712). Jin Shin Jyutsu is an innate part of man’s wisdom – simplifying the complexities of existence – and is truly an Art of Living.

Jin Shin Jyutsu was rediscovered by Master Jiro Murai early in the 20th century. His student, Mary Burmeister, brought the Art from Japan to America in the 1950’s.

GUEST SPEAKER – Susie Shiner
TITLE – Animal Communicator

Susie Shiner has been practising the Art of Seership for more than 25 years and is one of the UK’s most highly regarded animal communicators, medium and shamanic teacher and has served her local churches as a platform medium. “I am committed to being a voice for the animal kingdom, spreading awareness of animals as intelligent, sentient beings able to communicate their own wishes and point of view. My vision is to help heal the relationship between humans, animals and the natural world by raising awareness of the universal language by which all animals communicate with one another.”

Stroud Positive Living Group – June 2016

Next Event:

Monday 13th June 2016
GUEST SPEAKER – Mari Winkelman
TITLE – Embodiment for health, creativity and confidence in yourself!

In our culture of disembodiment we are encouraged to objectify our bodies and stress them with too much action and stimulation. When our bodies object through illness, we medicate them and carry on doing the same old thing. Somatic embodiment and movement practices are revolutionary because they encourage you to slow down your thoughts by tuning in to your feeling body in order to live a lifestyle that is truer to your nature. Mari-Aug-2015

Mari Winkelman is a Somatic Movement Therapist and works with individuals and groups facilitating people’s engagement with their somatic awareness. She has been  working in private practice since 2009. In 2014, she co-founded Health Moves, a not-for-profit organisation which delivers movement sessions for wellbeing.

Next Event:

Monday 11th April 2016
GUEST SPEAKER – Louisa ‘Weeza’ Potter
TITLE – Barefoot Walking and The Temple of Ursa

Weeza is following in the footsteps of She Bear. For several years she has been reawakening her connection to Bear and the memories of Bear Priestesses of this land – in particular, the Highlands of Scotland. Through visits to Assynt in Scotland, she hears the wisdom of the great She Bear who sleeps below the land and uses this inspiration to create workshops and ceremonies which honour She Bear and reconnect us back to our wild selves.

In tonight’s talk Weeza, who has trained as a SUNDOOR fire and glass walk leader, will describe and demonstrate some magical empowerment tools. She will outline how fire and glass walking can be used for transformation, and the practicalities of weaving them into your events and work.

Louisa PotterWeeza Potter’s work is grounded in her journey as a Priestess of Avalon and she is weaving in the magic of the ancient landscape of Assynt, where she dreams of raising a permanent Temple of Ursa, and seeing brown bears roam wild once more. She loves deepening her knowledge of all things Bear, their place in her story and legend, their biology, conservation and rewilding, the protection of bears facing torture, and their place in our spiritual world. When she is not busy being Mama Bear to her 2 girl cubs she loves walking in wild places, dancing 5 rhythms, and creative writing.
